Hunter Valley Wedding Recap ~ Part 10 ~ Brunch

~ Sunday ~

Brunch

On Sunday morning we hosted Brunch before everyone headed home. Originally we had organised to host it in an outdoor area at the estate we were staying at. However, when we checked in (the Wednesday before the wedding) the CM on the desk, very casually said;

CM “oh by the way we had a policy change & no longer allow guests to have the outdoor area for private functions, so I’ll check the bill for you”

ME– “Excuse Me”

CM “A while back we had a policy change, to many complaints from residents that live on the estate I think, and you can’t have functions here anymore, so I’ll check the bill”

So at this point I could have freaked out, but was stunned so instead just stood & starred at her (all the while the colour is draining from her face, waiting to see if I turn into a crazy bridezilla monster!) for a minute or so before responding “information that would have been helpful yesterday or last week or before I printed invitations, really anytime in the last 6 months this information would have been helpful. Today, checking in, 3days before the wedding…. not so helpful”

As we walked out of reception, although upset, I was already dialling Naomi and once again she came to our rescue & offered Peterson’s for our Sunday Brunch.
She was so lovely & kind, they’d had a quiet day so suggested we pop straight over for a drink & chat about the menu. Such a smart cookie! Less than an hour later we had confirmed the menu for Friday night & selected Sunday’s menu also, all done! Crisis adverted! The food was absolutely amazing and the staff did such a wonderful job at making everything seem relaxed and effortless.

Hunter Valley Wedding Recap ~ Part 9 ~ Hunter Reception

Saturday ~ Reception

Our reception venue was PERFECTION

Only a few venues in the area have all the draw cards .... sandstone character building, outdoor function area, vineyards, rose garden and lake. Most have 2 or 3 but we lucked out getting all 5 at one place.

After a small hiccup on the Thursday with broken water pipes (and the possibility that we would have to move the welcome party a 3rd time) everything went off perfectly. Naomi & her team were brilliant, especially the head chef Chad who with only a few days’ notice was able to pull together the menu for the Welcome Party & the Brunch on top of the wedding menu !

Naomi had everything set up as we asked
